When people are reading blog posts from social media, they tend to be lengthy, or people confuse blog posts for news articles.

If you are a business owner, you are going to want to pay attention.  If your Web Developer has set up your WordPress website correctly, (and unless you are paying them to post blogs for you), you should be able to some up with 12 articles a year to write yourself.  You can even repost those after about a year!  If you want to have a more aggressive approach to SEO, you could aim for 26 articles which would be 1 every 2 weeks.

But Let’s say you have creative bug one night, and you think of all these different topics that you think would be a good idea to cover on several different posts. WordPress allows for that!  You can easily create a quick draft, and it won’t show up on the site. This way you can work on it when you have time, save it as a draft, refine it, and publish it when you are ready. And just like that our Word Count is half way where it needs to be for Google recognize the post.

You can really write about anything, but it is best to stay within the realm of your services and offerings.

WordPress has some great functionality out of the box without any modifications, but you should consult with a WordPress Developer to mold and shape your WordPress website to the way you want it.

Let’s say you have some free time, and you feel like writing 3 blog posts. You don’t have to publish them all at once.  Most people don’t realize that you can schedule your posts to publish in the future!  If you plan accordingly, you can always be 1-2 posts ahead of when they are due and schedule them when you want!

Typically you would also want to push these posts to Facebook, and Twitter right around lunch time, so that people will see it. The other decent times are first thing in the morning or around dinner time. (there is a reason for this and that is because people are on their phones, and checking email.

Keep your website fresh and up to date with blog posts.  Post that will help your audience make decisions or help them from the knowledge that you know helps even more. Being that it is your business, you know more about it than anyone. If you can help someone you will be building trust, which then makes for an easier sell. And in most cases you won’t even need to sell them, they have already made their decision by the time they are contacting you.
